I've made these on several occasions, and each time they are a big hit, super easy to make, and god for you, so I thought I'd share the recipe...
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/3 cup honey
2 tablespoons raw sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons tahini or sesame butter
1/2 cup toasted wheat germ
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unshredded coconut plus additional for garnish
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Grind raw sunflower seeds into a rough powder in the blender. Combine all ingredients into a stiff and slightly crumbly dough. Press into balls and rolling coconut.
Variation: Wheat- free version: Substitute 1/2 cup rough ground sunflower seeds for the wheat germ. (This is what I usually do, and it taste fantastic)! Heavy, moist, grounding for those fast vata types, ok in moderation for pitas, and bit dense for Kaphas, so don't eat to many. Enjoy!
